Requirements

This trailer is equipped with electric brakes. Please confirm your tow vehicle meets the following requirements before booking.

Trailer Brake Controller — Required

Your tow vehicle must be equipped with an electric trailer brake controller. This is a legal requirement in BC when towing a trailer with brakes and ensures safe stopping. No exceptions. Don't have one? See our delivery add-on below.

2" Receiver with 2-5/16" Ball

Your tow vehicle needs a 2" receiver. A height-adjustable hitch with the correct 2-5/16" ball is included with your rental — you do not need to source your own ball mount.

Valid Driver's Licence & Insurance

Renter must hold a valid BC (or equivalent) driver's licence. Your personal auto insurance must extend coverage to towed trailers — confirm with your insurer prior to booking.

Renter Must Be 25+

Primary renter must be 25 years of age or older and agree to the rental terms & conditions at time of booking.

7-Pin Trailer Connector

Your tow vehicle must have a 7-pin trailer wiring connector for brake and lighting function.

No Brake Controller? No Problem.

If your vehicle isn't equipped with a trailer brake controller, we offer a drop-off service: we deliver the trailer loaded to your location, and pick it up after. You do the loading and unloading — we handle the drive.

This option removes the brake controller requirement entirely.

Terms & Conditions

Reservations & Payment

A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to secure a booking. This deposit is due via e-transfer at the time of booking confirmation. No reservation is considered confirmed until the deposit is received.

The remaining balance is due in full on the day of delivery or pickup. A damage deposit of $500–$1,000 (determined at owner's discretion based on rental duration and contents) is also collected on the day of delivery via credit card authorization or e-transfer, and is returned within 48 hours of trailer inspection upon return.

Cancellation Policy

The 25% booking deposit is strictly non-refundable.

  • Cancellations made more than [X] days before the rental start date: full balance waived.
  • Cancellations made within [X] days of the rental start date: 50% of the total rental fee is owed.
  • No-shows or same-day cancellations: 100% of rental fee is owed.

We reserve the right to cancel the rental for any reason, including unsafe weather or equipment issues, with a full refund including deposit in those circumstances.

Renter Eligibility & Responsibilities

The primary renter must be 25 years of age or older and hold a valid driver's licence. The renter assumes full responsibility for the trailer from the time of pickup or delivery until the time of return.

The renter is responsible for:

  • Ensuring their tow vehicle has appropriate tow rating, a 2" hitch receiver, 7-pin wiring, and a functioning electric trailer brake controller (unless the delivery-only add-on is selected).
  • Operating the trailer in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Securing all cargo properly to prevent damage to the trailer interior.
  • Returning the trailer in the same condition it was received, clean and free of debris.
Damage, Loss & Insurance

The renter is liable for all damage to the trailer that occurs during the rental period, including damage caused by improper loading, overloading, collision, theft, or vandalism.

The renter must confirm with their personal auto insurer that coverage extends to non-owned trailers. The owner does not provide insurance for the renter's use. The damage deposit is not an insurance product — costs exceeding the deposit remain the renter's responsibility.

Any damage must be reported immediately. Unreported damage discovered upon return will be assessed and invoiced accordingly.

Permitted Use

The trailer is available for use within the Sea-to-Sky corridor (Whistler–Pemberton region) by default. Long-distance travel (e.g. to the Lower Mainland or beyond) must be disclosed at time of booking and may affect rates or terms.

  • The trailer may not be sublet to a third party.
  • The trailer may not be used to transport illegal materials.
  • Commercial use (i.e. as a moving trailer for hire) is not permitted without prior written consent.
  • Overloading beyond rated payload capacity is not permitted.
Late Returns

The trailer must be returned or made available for pickup at the agreed time. Late returns will be charged at $[XX] per hour or one full day's rental rate (whichever is greater) for each partial day over the agreed return time.

Late returns that impact a subsequent renter's booking may result in additional charges.

Limitation of Liability

The owner shall not be liable for any loss, damage, injury, or claim arising from the use of the trailer, including damage to cargo, third-party property damage, or personal injury. The renter uses the trailer at their own risk.

In no event shall the owner's liability exceed the total rental fee paid for the relevant rental period.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of British Columbia.

These terms are provided for informational purposes and do not constitute legal advice. Consider having your rental agreement reviewed by a legal professional.
